What this is
Most discovery sites bury you in infinite scroll and shove the same ten bestsellers at you — the ones you've already finished — while the genuinely good, genuinely dark, genuinely well-written serials rot ten pages deep. Popularity compounds; the algorithm is happy to keep showing you what you already know.
The Midnight System is the opposite of that. A small, opinionated index of serials worth your limited time — adult protagonists, earned victories, no chosen-one teenagers. Curated against the slop.

How the curation works
Every entry is read and judged by a real person before it earns a slot. Not everything makes the cut — that's the entire point. The star scores you see start as the curator's verdict (the "seed" value); as Crawlers cast votes, the System blends your taste into the score. Reviews, ratings, and per-book discussion are yours to add.
